Payback’s many-tentacled Speed Card system is absolutely not for me. Unlike Need for Speed 2015, which allowed us to bolt on specific parts to improve performance – you know, like a normal racing game – Payback’s upgrades are controlled by what the game dubs “Speed Cards”. Much, much worse is that performance customisation has been distilled into a collectible card game. I get that it’s designed to get us interacting with all the new Forza Horizon-inspired jumps and speed traps, et cetera, but it’s a lot of new hoops to jump through to change your cars’ appearance where previously there were none.
Individual visual customisation options now need to be unlocked by performing arbitrary tasks out in the world.

The segregated car divisions, I can handle the upgrade system, I cannot.

I have pre-order my full copy of the game on origin as it looks like this game will replace my Forza Horizon 3 game as i need some new challenges and a new game to enjoy it. Overall i love the experience and i did really enjoy it a lot and that what really matters to me, lots of fun game to play.
Graphics looks good ( nothing earth shattering ), gameplay is good and the cop chases are back, so far i like the story line, i had some microstutters at the begining of the game but they were gone after a few minutes and have not come back, handling it feels the same as NFS MW 2015, fps on my configuration ( Ryzen 1700x 4.1Ghz - 16GB DDR4 3466Mhz Cas 14 - 1080Ti - Sata 3 SSD ) is great as i play at 4K, 60fps is my goal, everything maxed out + fxaa + hbao i get ~75fps, i have noticed it really does hammer all of my 16 threads very hard as they are all always between 35% ~ 50% each thread everytime all throughout the game so it seems multithreaded optimize, it also uses a lot of system memory 10.5GB of system Ram while playing at 4K, video card it is pegged at 100% always and uses 8190GB of video memory at 4K.īeen a NFS fan since the beginning i feel there is a slighly feel of the old NFS and that is good news for the die hard fans of NFS, also it does have a look alike feel of Forza Horizon 3 lol. I have just tried and played the demo for a couple of hours.
